Perfect Fit, Every Time

Churidar & Chudithar Pattern Making Software

Fashion Dot is churidar pattern making software - spelled chudithar in Tamil Nadu - that drafts, grades and prints full-scale patterns for chudithar suits - top, neck, sleeve, salwar and pant - straight from your customer's measurements. Perfect fit, every size, in minutes.

It is one module of Fashion Dot's pattern making software range, which also covers blouse, dress, kurti and gents wear.

The Process

Chudithar cutting, done on a computer

Because every pattern is generated from the same tested logic, your fit is consistent from the first order to the thousandth. New staff produce master-quality cutting from day one, and a busy season no longer depends on a single cutter being available.

No manual drafting
For decades, chudithar cutting has depended on the master cutter's hand and memory - one person who knows how to turn a chest, waist and length into a clean chudithar or salwar pattern. Fashion Dot captures that skill in a system any tailor can use.
Consistent Fit
You enter the measurements, choose the garment style, and the software drafts a full-size, print-ready pattern in seconds - no manual drafting on newspaper, no guesswork, no re-cutting.

Why Us

Why chudithar tailors choose Fashion Dot

India's first chudithar CAD
We built the country's first computerised chudithar cutting software in 2012 and have refined it with feedback from more than 11,000 tailors and boutiques.
No drafting skill required
Enter the measurements, pick the model, and the software drafts and grades for you. A shop owner without a master cutter can still deliver a master-cut fit.
Print at full scale
Send patterns straight to a Fashion Dot pattern printer, plotter or laser cutter - the drawn pattern becomes a physical one, ready to lay on cloth in minutes.
Trained, local support
Real people train your team on-site and stay reachable - not a helpline that forgets you after the sale.
How it works

From measurement to finished cut, in three steps

1. Enter the measurementsTake your customer's bust, waist, hip, top length, sleeve and bottom length as usual, and type them in.
2. Pick the styleChoose the chudithar, salwar, or pant model and the options that suit the order.
3. Print and cutSend the pattern to a printer, plotter or laser cutter and lay it straight on the cloth.
The draft

The pieces a chudithar suit produces

Enter a chest, a waist and a length, and the software returns the full set: the front, the back, the sleeve, the leg panel and the yoke - every one to size, with the seam allowance already on it.

The leg panel is cut on the bias, and that is not a detail the software glosses over. A churidar leg has to gather at the ankle without binding, which is what the bias gives it - and a bias piece drafted a little out of true shows immediately in how the gathers sit. Drafted from the measurement set rather than by hand, the panel comes out the same on the hundredth suit as on the first.

Sleeves and necks are chosen, not redrawn. Boat neck, V-neck and round neck are preloaded, alongside collar, cuff, yoke and pocket options in full-sleeve and half-sleeve. Salwars come gathered, pleated and straight cut, with the seat, thigh and bottom controls chudithar cutting actually needs rather than a generic trouser block.

One measurement set

Change the style, keep the fit

This is the part that saves the most time in a chudithar shop, and it is easy to miss on a feature list. Anarkali, palazzo, patiala and umbrella-cut churidar are all drafted from the same measurement set. The customer is measured once; the style is a choice made afterwards.

In hand-drafted work those are four different jobs, each starting from the measurements again, and each carrying its own chance of the fit drifting. Here the fit is settled once and the silhouette changes on top of it - so a customer who asks for the anarkali instead of the patiala after the measurements are taken costs a click, not an afternoon.

It is also what makes the fit repeatable across staff. Because every pattern comes off the same tested logic, a new tailor produces the same cut as an experienced one from the first day, and a busy season stops depending on one cutter being available.

FAQ

Common questions

Everything you need to know about India's first chudithar CAD.

What is chudithar pattern making software?

It is a CAD tool that drafts, grades and prints full-scale patterns for chudithar garments - tops, salwars, pants, and sleeves - directly from customer measurements.

Does it include neck and sleeve designs?

Yes. Fashion Dot includes a large library of churidar neck and sleeve models - the same chudithar library Tamil Nadu tailors know - which you can apply to any size and print, alongside salwar and pant styles.

Is churidar the same as chudithar in the software?

Yes - churidar and chudithar are two spellings of the same garment, and one module covers both. Fashion Dot launched India's first computerised churidar cutting software in 2012 and has developed it continuously with 11,000+ tailors since.

Can I print chudithar patterns to full size?

Yes. Every chudithar pattern prints full-scale to a Fashion Dot pattern printer or plotter, or cuts directly on a Fashion Dot laser cutting machine - ready to lay on cloth.
