The First Week

What happens after the technician leaves

Nobody buys software. They buy the week after it arrives.

Two rules decide whether that week holds. Train the cutter, not only the owner - the owner is the person least likely to be drafting at nine at night in December. And train a second person, because the first one will eventually leave, which is one of the problems the system was bought to solve.

Do not buy in the middle of wedding season either. There is no time to train anyone and the system sits unused until the rush ends.

Honest Limits

What the Mini plan will not do

The half of the list most vendors leave out.

It will not fix a measurement taken wrongly. The draft is only as good as the numbers entered. If two people in the shop take the waist at different places the stored record is worth nothing - and agreeing where each measurement is taken costs nothing, which makes it the best value change in the building.

It will not cut the cloth. The full-size printed pattern is the output. Cutting is still a skill, and a cutting machine is a separate purchase with its own cost.

It will not cover gents or bulk work. Those modules are in the larger plans. Buying Mini for work it does not cover is a disappointment that was avoidable at the demo.

It will not print on an ordinary A4 printer. A full-scale pattern needs continuous roll paper.

It will not pay for itself in a shop with spare capacity. The return comes from orders previously refused, alterations that stop coming back, and cloth that stops going into the bin.

Common questions about the Mini plan

Who is the Mini package for?

A shop that mainly cuts blouse and churidar work and wants to stop redrawing the same drafts by hand. It is the entry package - one computer, one printer, the pattern library and training - and it is the one most small shops and home-based tailors start with.

What is the difference between Mini, Pro and Max?

Broadly: how many garment modules are included and what output hardware comes with it. Mini covers the blouse and churidar side that a ladies tailor cuts every day. Compare all three on the tailoring CAD software price page before deciding, and bring the garment you cut most often to the demo.

Can I upgrade from Mini later?

Yes, and it is worth asking exactly what an upgrade costs at the time you buy Mini rather than a year later. A shop that grows into gents or bulk work should know the number in advance.

Do I need to know computers?

The cutter needs to learn one screen, not a computer course. Training is hands-on at your shop and in the language your team works in. Plan on about a week to be working unaided on your first garment.

What hardware comes with it?

A printer that takes continuous roll paper is the part that matters - an ordinary A4 printer cannot produce a usable full-scale pattern. What is included in each package is listed on the price page, and the technician installs and sets it up at your shop.

Will it draft the blouse styles my customers ask for?

Bring one to the demo and find out before you pay. Name your own difficult garment - the one that comes back for alteration most often - and ask for it drafted from measurements you give on the day and printed full size on paper.

Is it suitable for a home-based tailor?

Yes, that is who the entry package exists for. The honest test is not shop size but whether you turn work away or keep redrawing the same drafts. A tailor with spare capacity all year gains the least.

What happens if something breaks?

Ask for the actual response time in season, not the general promise, and what happens meanwhile. A shop that cannot cut for three days in December has lost more than the cost of the service call.
