Coimbatore buyers get something no other city does: the machines are here. Everywhere else
the demo happens over a video call. At Ganapathy you can stand next to the equipment and
watch a pattern go from measurements to cut cloth before any money changes hands.
A pattern drafted from measurements you bring
Bring a customer's measurements - a blouse, a churidar, a shirt, whatever your shop is
cutting this week - and we draft it in front of you. That is the part worth judging: not
whether the software looks modern, but whether the fit logic matches how your cutter
already works. A rehearsed sample tells you nothing; your own garment tells you everything.
The same pattern printed at full scale
The draft then goes to the pattern printer at 1:1, so you see the sheet you would cut from
rather than a picture on a screen. This is where most people understand the difference for
the first time - the notches, the seam allowance and the grain line are all on the paper,
in exactly the places a hand-drafted pattern usually has to be checked twice for.
The laser cutter running on real fabric
The laser is the machine people are most unsure about, and the one that answers itself
fastest when you watch it work. Seeing it cut, and seeing the sealed edge it leaves, settles
in two minutes a question that no specification sheet closes.
Where and when
The showroom is at D.No 3/1, SF No:42, Athipalayam Road, Ganapathy, Coimbatore 641006 - open
Monday to Saturday from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Call
+91 95972 22721 or +91 84486 38639 before you come and we will have the machines set up
and someone free to walk you through them, rather than you waiting between customers.
And if you would rather not travel
The demo can happen at your shop instead. For Coimbatore and the rest of Tamil Nadu we do
on-site demos in person wherever possible, and installation and the first training happen at
your shop with your own staff either way - in Tamil.
The right setup follows what you cut, not what sits at the top of the range. Three patterns
cover most of what we install around Coimbatore.
The boutique in RS Puram
Silk-saree blouse work, one garment at a time, each customer different and the cloth too
expensive to re-cut. Here the value is entirely in the draft, so the software with a pattern
printer is usually where to start - every order gets a full-scale, exact pattern, and the
tenth blouse of a wedding week is drafted as carefully as the first. It also means the shop
stops depending on one master cutter being available.
The gents unit near the market
Shirts, trousers, coats and uniform orders, often several sizes of the same garment at once.
Shirt and trouser patterns run long, so a plotter that draws the full length in one pass
earns its place quickly - and grading a uniform order across a whole size set from one
master pattern is the part that turns a bulk contract from a headache into a day's work.
Fashion Dot built India's first computerised gents-wear cutting software here in 2012, and
the gents models have been developed with units like these ever since.
The tailoring institute
An institute has a different problem from a shop: every student has to reach the same
standard, and a teacher cannot stand at twenty tables at once. Because every pattern comes
off the same tested logic, a student produces the same cut as the instructor from early on,
and the teaching moves from redrawing basics to the parts that actually need judgement.
The full garment range - blouse, churidar, kurti, gents, uniform and kids - sits in one
workspace, so a course covers all of it without changing tools.
If you are between two of these, say so when you book. We would rather put
you on the setup your order book needs than sell you the bigger machine - and because the
software, printer, plotter and laser all come from us, adding the next machine later means
the same patterns rather than starting again. Support for all of it is here in Coimbatore,
in Tamil.
